Cyber Intelligence Act Passes House

In the damned if you do and damned if you don't department, the House passed the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act CISPA.  This is another in a whole series of measures that are designed to protect our country's information networks and resources from surveillance or attack by a foreign power or illegal domestic activity.  Like the addition of the TSA screeners at airports, we now must endure potential scrutiny from the services providers whom we trust to protect our digital content, access, and information.  In this technologist's opinion the whole subject of Internet privacy will always be controversial and contentious.  We - Internet users - can't have it both ways because like air travel, opportunities automatically exist for abuse and extremely dangerous life-threatening activities by people and other governments who choose to threaten our freedoms.  Get used to it!
