EU Blocks Tracking Technologies

On May 25, 2012 the UK will begin its enforcement of the EU Cookie Directive which requires any businesses conducting business in the region to obtain prior informed consent before placing any tracking technologies on devices. The impact to a site can be significant, as in some instances a site may not even be able to load without first soliciting consent from a visitor.

This isn't a condemnation of tracking, just a wake-up call to everything Internet to respect the privacy, security, and wishes of its customers.
