Apple storms Microsoft's castle: Macs will be as accepted in enterprises as Windows PCs by 2014, says Gartner | Computerworld Blogs
Made you Look!
There are so many computer users out there who want Apple everywhere, and justifiably so. The technology is cool. The missing piece is that they still don't play well with others.
BYOD is the force to be reckoned with in the enterprise. And acceptance of iOS, Android,Windows RT, and now Blackberry will shape the future of "communications devices", not just traditional computers.
In case you haven't noticed, we're still creating documents and contracts, requiring forms, exchanging photos and videos, and organizing unbelievable numbers of files into volumes and folders with security requirements.
The key quote in the article is the following:
"Even when that happens, the enterprise will remain a Microsoft enterprise stronghold, due to the prevalence of Office, servers, and a great deal of other enterprise-focused technologies. Still, it would represent a significant shift in business-based computing towards Apple, something that would have been inconceivable only a few years ago."
So, lets not jump to conclusions too quickly, especially with Apple 4th quarter 2012 stock prices a bit soft.
