Why You Shouldn't Buy a TV This Year. Again

Why You Shouldn't Buy a TV This Year. Again | Gadget Lab | Wired.com

Never thought I'd see the day when we'd consider NOT buying something.  And the reason has historical roots. Many of us has learned that to wait is to miss out.  In my tech experience, I had the opportunity to wait and NOT purchase 8-track.  And that was because we heard that cassettes were coming.  We didn't buy BetaMax (Sony's videotape offering) because the competitor VHS (from Panasonic) was more popular and less expensive.

And now we're being encouraged to wait for, what, "Smart TVs".  Come on guys, I enjoy pounding on my laptop while watching the Super Bowl.

Why would a half-crazed techno geek with disposable income wait for anything?
